Delta Customers Traveling in August and September Can Screen Award-Winning WWII Documentary As Part of In-Flight Entertainment Programming
CHICAGO, Illinois -- Today, Delta Airlines announced the exclusive in-flight presentation of documentary THE GIRL WHO WORE FREEDOM, screening on Delta flights beginning in August. The announcement comes as part of Delta’s refresh of their in-flight entertainment programming, and in celebration of the return to international travel. THE GIRL WHO WORE FREEDOM, produced, written, and directed by Chicago filmmaker and Mississippi native, Christian Taylor, invites audiences to discover the untold stories of D-Day from the men, women, and children who lived through German occupation and Allied liberation of Normandy, France. Powerful and deeply personal, the film tells the stories of an America that lived its values, instilling a pride in country that is in danger of becoming a relic of the past. “I want to remind viewers of who we are as Americans when we are at our very best,” says producer, writer, and director Christian Taylor. “When we are standing up for those who are poor, oppressed, especially those whose freedoms and liberties have been stolen. It is a reminder that individual and national acts of bravery, care and compassion have the power to impact others for generations.” “Our dedication to bringing the very best entertainment onboard is never ending,” said Jaclyn Gonzales, Manager – Delta In-Flight Entertainment. “Whether it’s binging a full season of a favorite TV show or discovering a new feature film, our team has hand-picked the perfect selection of entertainment to ensure customers have something new to enjoy when flying on Delta.” The film was brought to Delta through their Veterans Business Resource Group (BRG), and is a highlight of Delta’s industry-leading seatback entertainment options joining more than 240 films including 16 new releases from some of Hollywood’s top studios.
