World Back to Work Chair David Shor Issues Statement on Supreme Court Blocking COVID Testing Mandate

Updated: Jun 8, 2022

LOS ANGELES, California – Following the United States Supreme Court’s ruling to block the Biden Administration’s Emergency Temporary Standard (ETS), which would have required businesses with 100 or more employees to mandate vaccines or negative COVID testing to work, World Back to Work co-founder and Chairman David Shor issued the following statement:

“The Supreme Court’s decision to block a national standard for companies will do harm not only to the employees who are put at risk, but to enterprises which are now open to potential litigation for having inconsistent safety standards across states. It is more important than ever that businesses proactively implement strict safety policies, because protecting workers protects the bottom line. The Omicron variant is one of the most virulent diseases humanity has ever encountered, and so social distancing and masking alone will not protect workers. World Back to Work will continue to work with businesses and organizations of all sizes to provide COVID mitigation strategies consistently across states, that will keep them in operation and even give them a competitive edge over those who refuse to take this pandemic seriously.”
